Introduction: Harvey Stephen Dent

The Dark Knight was one of the most popular movies of 2008 and a lot of the hype and popularity came shortly after the film wrapped with the death of beloved Hollywood star. Heath Ledger. Ledger did an amazing job playing the Joker, perhaps better than anyone else in history. Heath Ledger was certainly one of the creepiest Jokers in cinema history, if nothing else. Some people claim that Joker was the best part of the Dark Knight, but I think that Harvey Stephen Dent, as played by Aaron Eckhart, was even better than the Joker.

Christian Bale also offered a great performance and made it possible for a whole new generation to fall in love with the Batman franchise. But what about Aaron Eckhart’s performance? Why is the character Harvey Dent so often overlooked? Why does the importance of Two Face never quite match up in the minds of the audience? It is going to be interesting to see how Christopher Nolan is going to take the storyline in the upcoming 2012 film, The Dark Knight Rises. I hope that Harvey Dent and Two Face are featured in the new film, or will they be upstaged yet again by some other batman villain?

As someone whose surname is Dent and as a lifelong fan of the Batman movies and comics, I started this webpage to discuss the importance of the Harvey Dent character, why Two Face matters, and also to write a full summary of all the people who have played Harvey Stephen Dent throughout the character’s history.

I hope you all enjoy this very personal take on Batman and I hope that what I have to say here can lend a little credence to the story from the other side of the table… without seeming Two-Faced.
